Nos años siguientes aportó a una actriz de primer orde actuando en westerns xunto a Tom Mix o Tim McCoy, anque la so carrera foi efímera. Larry Semon finó en 1928, y l'actriz dexó de rodar en 1930.
Dorothy Dwan finó en 1981 en Ventura, California, por causa de un cáncer de pulmón. Tenía 74 años d'edá. Habíase casáu trés vegaes, y tenía un fíu, Paul, frutu del so matrimoniu con Paul Northcutt Boggs Jr.
